Earthquake in Italy

The Earthquake in Emilia Romagna was a seismic event that began May 20, 2012 with a shock of magnitude 6.1 with epicenter in the provinces of Modena and Ferrara. On 29 May at 9.00 another strong quake of magnitude 5.8, lasting 30 seconds, has further devastated areas already affected by the previous earthquake bringing serious structural damage in houses and destroying churches and historical monuments. After this sequence of earthquakes displaced people living in tents provided by humanitarian organizations, rising to about 15000. Even the industries has been severely affected in fact there are hundreds of warehouses destroyed and unusable by putting on his knees an economy already in crisis. The two earthquakes have caused a total of 26 dead and about 400 wounded. On June 4, 2012 in Italy was proclaimed a national day of mourning for the victims of the earthquake.
